Gone are the days of international students come knocking on the doors of the higher education institutions to check on the institution’s academic and research facilities. With the rapidly growing global economy and emerging international education market, the global competition for international students has intensified. Wait!, it does not stop there. Cost and visa limitations means that international students cannot participate in campus visits, and budget and time constraints limit the use of domestic type direct marketing campaigns and school to school recruiting visits for international recruiting. What does all these mean to higher educational institutions with international education programs? Institutions have to either be innovate to reach out to the international students to showcase their academic and research life or risk to lose out on their share of international students. Institutions must adapt cutting edge e-marketing and e-recruiting tools and strategies to take their institutions and the institutions’ experience virtually to the door steps of prospective international students and their parents to increase visibility and recruit students. This consciously generates interest and interaction between the prospective international students and institutions, thus increasing the chances of attracting international students. This community discusses topics related to the state of the art e-marketing and e-recruiting tools and the best practices in international student recruiting for better return-on-investment (ROI).
This community also welcome international students and their parents to provide feedback on how international educators can take educational institutions virtually to their door step.
